Below is a list of general TP notes and individual game notes I've written down during testing and gameplay. Use your text editor's search/find function to locate a game by its name or the GameProfile ID. There are also common/general notes at the bottom of the document (search for "zzGeneralNotes")

Not all games have notes! I pick away at them when I get time, which isn't as often as I'd like. I also can't keep up with patches and fixes the TP devs may implement after the notes were written. If something seems amiss, the notes might just be out of date. I'll do my best to keep them updated.

ALL GAME NOTES ARE BASED ON THE GAME DUMPS AS THEY EXIST IN THIS COLLECTION. If you are supplying your own dumps, your results may vary from what you see written here. There is a whole world of TP game patches available which are not included in this collection as of yet.

3D Cosplay Mahjong (3DCosplayMahjong)

- game only natively works in windowed mode
- if you try to run it in fullscreen, you'll be met with the following errors:
Error!! : Create3DDevice
fGf%.!! : Game

The only workaround I've come across to force the game to work in fullscreen mode is to use "Borderless Gaming" (BG) from github (https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases). It's a safe app that you can apply to running applications that will take their window and expand it to fullscreen, in the resolution you have your monitor set to.

I've tested BG with this game and it works great. Download that latest non-steam version, install and run the BG app. Run TeknoParrot normally, select 3D Cosplay game, and ensure it is set to "windowed" mode. Run the game. When the game starts, look at the Applications list in the BG window for an application called "3DCustomMahjong [Title]". Highlight it and click on the right arrow to move it to the Favorites (automatic) list. Now anytime you run BG and then run 3D Cosplay, BG will automatically switch the game into fullscreen.

Maybe the TP devs can fix this, but probably not since they don't give a damn about mahjong games, even with provocative ladies flirting with their goodies.

Oddly, the game seems to have two video modes, horizontal and vertical (based on the movie_h.wmv and movie_v.wmv game files). However, checking the service menu, there is no way to make any changes to the orientation of the screen.

Action Deka (ActionDeka)

- doesn't work on Intel GPU
- this is another game that makes the player use the PLAYER 2 side if you want to play the game solo. Setup your controls in TPUI for PLAYER 2 inputs if you are going to play a solo game.

The game can be a bit tempermental starting up, especially after modifying the game controls. If the game exits a short time after starting it (within 10 seconds), simply restart the game and it should work.

Make sure you have your "Change Control Mode" button configured (i like setting it to the space bar, easy enough to hit). Otherwise, you won't be able to change between modes (shooting, fighting, driving etc). The game starts with no control mode selected, so be sure to select a mode when a level begins or otherwise your buttons probably won't do anything.

Akuma Mortis Immortal (Akuma)

THIS GAME DOES NOT WORK WITH 12th-14th GEN INTEL CPU'S (not GPU.. I'm talking about the CPU). You can set everything up perfectly, but the TRIGGERS will not work. Does not matter if you try mapping them to a controller or keyboard either.. the triggers simply will not work. I can only personally confirm that a 13th gen Core i7 will not work, the other reports come from other users.

I have playtested with TPUI and I can conform that the game is fully working on an 11th Gen Intel CPU. Game should work with the older gen CPU's too.

Game setup:
- on Game.exe, set compatability mode to Windows XP SP3
- run TPUI as administrator for this game (for compatability mode to work)
- setup game using RawInput, HideCursor, FpsLimitEnable (60), Crosshair Enable, Bezel Enable.
- map light gun to mouse.
- play game.

The "expdat" and "extdat" files are the patched versions of the NVRAM which has Free Play enabled (this is how you know you're using the patches files). Trying to use the "original" versions of these two files will result in no inputs working at all, and the game will no longer be in Free Play mode. These two files do eventually get modified when any input configurations are changed in TPUI, hence why the "original" and "patched" folders are included.

If you have your own crosshairs, scale them down to about 64x64 pixels so they're not super large on the screen. The game window runs at your native desktop resolution, but the game runs at a resolution way lower (looks like 640x480).

This game sucks anyway.

Run patched standalone:
- from the "patched" folder, copy all the files into the root of the "data" folder, overwriting existing files.
- on Game.exe, set compatability mode to Windows XP SP3
- run "Game.exe" and use the following keys for inputs:

Keys:
S - Service
T - Test mode
Q - P1 Start
E - P2 Start
C - Coin
Mouse button 1 - Trigger P1
Mouse button 2 - Trigger P2
Mouse move - Gun X/Y

Aliens Armageddon (AliensArmageddon)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! This is a game that will require game folder renaming after you extract it, or else you're just going to run into problems running the game. See the "RAW THRILLS path length limits" section in this document for all the details.

~96-character limit (mid-era engine):
These titles used the Phoenix or early Unicorn loader. They’ll choke above 96, but 80–90 is still safest. These usually run on Linux builds with slightly safer path logic (longer structs), but still choke >96.

This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "ALIENS" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

- everything is shadowed and dark
	- INTEL GPU has this problem, can't be fixed.
	- if you're using an integrated NVIDIA GPU (such as on a laptop):
		- open the NVIDIA control panel
		- select Manage 3D settings
		- In the Global Settings tab, under "Preferred graphics processor", use the pulldown menu and select the NVIDIA processor (sometimes it will default to the integrated graphics option)
- \g6\aa\pmuser\gamelog.txt has a wealth of troubleshooting
- lots of user-specific files are updated in various folders here: \g6\aa\pmuser\
- if your attract sequence crashes: reset high scores in the service menu

to program the menu, map both p1 and p2 to the same mouse. mouse navigation with trigger will then work for the menu.

Game also works with a game controller. Your luck may vary for setting up with RawInput.

- edit: Oct 2025, game won't even boot up on the same hardware it used to work on.

- i can use the preconfigured JConfig and setup the controls in it and play it in windowed mode (without crosshairs), but that's about all.
- using JConfig and running the game will create a "d45002588a1d0daf807b37ba131cbf1f_000" folder in the root of your D: drive. Using TPUI will create this folder inside the game folder. This is safe to delete afterwards.

- as of TPUI 1.0.0.1561 (Mar 08 2025), make 100% sure you correctly select a valid network interface in your main TPUI SETTINGS (NOT GAME SETTINGS). If your main IP address doesn't work, look for one that is similar, choose that and try again. As long as you're connected to a valid network, one of the interfaces will work.

- if you've set the correct network interface in your TPUI settings, the game will detect the network interface almost immediately when starting the game (no 60 second countdown timer). If you get the countdown timer ticking down, it likely means the network interface on the machine it is checking is wrong. Go fix it.

- if you want to create a webcam picture, create a webcam.png file in the root of the game folder.

- Network values are also stored in save0 and save1 folders:
\save0\ifconfig.txt
\save0\ping-targets.txt
\save0\tmp\arp_ip.txt

- Check out data/csv/config.csv for extra options, although you should know what you're doing before you start fucking around with these

NETWORK PLAY ONLY:
- each machine must have a unique ID. Set the ID in each of your machines in the Service Menu on each setup (1,2,3, or 4).

To get into the TEST/SERVICE MENU, press and hold the assigned TEST button for at least 3 seconds. When successful, the menu will automatically appear.

There are a bunch of different versions of this game floating around on the internet, all with various loaders attached to them and hacked executables. Those people who have issues with the game have one of the patched/hacked copies.

The original cvgame.exe from the MAME version has a CRC of 6d6755f8
A working hacked cvgame.exe has a CRC of f9f619ae

Comparing the bytes of each exe, there are 27 distinct and separate byte differences between the two exe's. However, both exe's play the same, with no visual differences to tell between them (at least none that I could see).

I've selected the MAME cvgame.exe as the main exe, and kept the altered version as "cvgame.exe.f9f619ae"

Cleaned up additional loader files that don't belong:
ds2_monitor.dll
monitor_input.bin
monitor_opt.bin
DSII_Icon.ico

In the RES folder, when you start the game for the first time, the "_gdata987.rpm" gets written to. I would assume this may be some sort of setting file.

Other than some minor random flickering and graphical issues, the game is playable.

Dino King Battle - King of Jurassic (DinoKing)

- game does not work fullscreen
- if you have problems with windowed mode, likely nothing you do will get the game to run.
- Game will NOT work if run from D: drive - move it to another drive letter such as C:
- controls work, but gets stuck on card issuance screen -- no way to take or insert card(?)

If you have multiple monitors:
1. If you set the game to run fullscreen, it will open the game window on your main monitor where TPUI is.
2. If you set the game to run windowed, it will drop the resolution of your main monitor to something extremely low, like 640x480, then move the game window over to your secondary monitor.

Game is really struggling to be a game.

Dirty Drivin' (DirtyDrivin)

~96-character limit (mid-era engine):
These titles used the Phoenix or early Unicorn loader. They’ll choke above 96, but 80–90 is still safest. These usually run on Linux builds with slightly safer path logic (longer structs), but still choke >96.

This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "DRTYDR" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

Enable "General - AutoAcclOff" if you don't want auto acceleration.

Game works fine with XInput.

- INTEL GPU > green screen on bootup, attract videos do not play. press GAS/START button to start game and it works fine after that. Free play is easier to deal with.
- best to go FULLSCREEN WINDOWED to match desktop resolution. Sometimes when messing around with lower resolutions, game will go into 4:3 mode.
- deleting the "ArcadeFiles" folder will cause the game to go into its Service menu on next boot. Make changes, calibrate, then exit the game when it says "Rebooting". Settings will be saved in the ArcadeFiles folder.

Dragon Dance (DragonDanceNesica)

new EXE: B2836DB7

This game is now using ddrawcompat as a fix. The game will start with TPUI, but will get stuck on the NOTICE screen.

Once you are on the NOTICE screen, wait 10-15 seconds and you will hear a Windows exclamation sound. Press the ENTER key on the keyboard and the game will start. The game throws an "failed to initialize audio mixer" error in the background, and since the error window becomes the active window (but is covered up by the NOTICE screen), pressing the ENTER key selects the window's "Close" button. This allows the game to finish booting.

I've added a text message on the NOTICE screen to press the ENTER key. It's about the only non-disruptive way I could come up with to handle this problem without the user having to do extra things.

older notes:
There is a workaround to force the game to start with TPUI by using the DDrawCompat dll.
- download ddraw.dll from https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases
- place the ddraw.dll in the root of the game folder, where "game_liong.exe" is
- if they exist, rename, move or delete any other dll's in the main game folder. iDmacDrv32.dll and ddraw.dll should be the only dll's in the game folder.
- in TPUI, start the game.
- the game will get stuck on the "Notice" screen
- about 10-15 seconds after starting the game, you'll hear a windows exclamation sound in the background. This is the audio mixer failing to initialize.
- Press the enter key, game will start

Alternatively,
- Press and HOLD down the ALT key, then press the TAB key
- Still holding down the ALT key, use your mouse to hover over and close the window named "ERROR"
- Still holding down the ALT key, click on the game window
- release the ALT key
- play the game.

Another annoying thing about this game is that it uses 2 Japanese fonts from the game's font folder. When you quit the game, the Windows OS does not release its hold on those 2 font files, which will not allow you to move or delete the font files or the font folder. You'll have to reboot your PC in order to do so.

- edit Game.ini if you want to run a different resolution. change SCREEN_* and RENDER_* values.
- edit Game.ini and set ENABLE_VSYNC 0 if you experience bad lag
- Set the "General - DongleRegion" and "General - DPcbRegion" to the same region. JAPAN, EXPORT, USA all tested fine.

- First game run, start game in test mode and then exit test mode to start game

- If you switch the game between regions, you'll get stuck on a calibration test screen. press the "S" key to highlight the Exit selection, and press the "Home" key to exit the test menu.
====================================================================
Elevator Action Death Parade (EADP)

- this is another game that if you want to play solo, you have to setup and play the game as PLAYER 2.

- "Border - Thickness" must be set to zero (0) or any numerical value, cannot be left blank.

- Attraction doors work fine, pick one from the "Attraction Doors Pack" folder. Door resolution doesn't matter, game will adjust the pics, just pick one that you like. use the 1920x1080 Landscape pics if you want a good default door pack.
- ensure you check the following boxes in game setup:
	- "Attraction Doors - Enable" (requires DoorLeft.png, DoorRight.png, DoorsBezel.png)
	- Copy the 3 png's into the root of the game folder where the Game.exe is located

I was unable to get the controls to work with only the "Bezel - Enable" active. Disabling it and only using the Attraction doors allowed the controls to work again. The attraction doors have a built-in bezel anyway, which could be half the reason why the two settings don't seem to work together.

Controls work best when you're setup for RawInput.

If you're running into the same issue, only run these boxes checked:
Crosshairs - Enable
Attraction Doors - Enable
General - Scale Test Menu

If you have a 2nd monitor that is setup in portait mode and enable "General - Multi SCreen", you'll get various extra in-game stuff to watch such as cameras, videos, messages, and such. Makes the game way more immersive and enjoyable.

Family Guy Bowling (FamilyGuyBowling)

As of plugin v1.7, the game is fully playable and all inputs are working.

Game REQUIRES BepInEx and the appropriate plugin for this game to work.

***FIRST SETUP***f
To fix the hanging "hazy blue sky" screen, RUN THE GAME ONCE TO ALLOW BepInEx TO SET ITSELF UP. When exiting the hung game, if the command line window does not close, use Task Manager to end the process.

Once you've exited the game, with a text editor, go into the "BepInEx\config" folder and open the newly created "BepInEx.cfg" file.

Scroll down to the bottom of the file to the "[Preloader.Entrypoint]" section
Change the line that reads "Type = Application" to "Type = MonoBehaviour"

NOTE THE CAPITALIZATION AND SPELLING of the word "MonoBehaviour". Don't spell it wrong. Better yet, how about you just copy and paste it from this text file into the config file.. then you can't fuck it up.

Save the changes you just made to the cfg file, and restart the game.

ENABLE REDPIN: Redpin is only available in 2-4 player modes (disable tournament)

Archived: The following original hardcoded controls in the game that were disabled in TPUI
T - test
S - start
Enter - select
Left/Right arrow - hook

Far Cry Paradise Lost (FarCryParadiseLost)

- native resolution 800x600
- game works fine in 1920x1080

This version adds some graphics options such as MSAA, Shadow Resolution and Hires reflections. If your GPU can handle it, definitely enable and tweak them to suit.

RawInputTrackball input has been completely overhauled!

RawInputTrackball:
- this is the best option to use, as you do not need to worry about Mouse Speed or Windows Scaling
- Set Teknoparrot X and Y axis sliders to 25%

Dinput:

- At 4k Resolution, set your Windows Scaling to 200%, Windows mouse speed to 3, and the Teknoparrot X,Y sliders to 100%
- at 1080p Resolution, set your Windows Scaling to 100%, Windows mouse speed to 4, and the Teknoparrot X,Y sliders to 100%
- You may need to use Dinput if you are using a gamepad encoder for your button input, as opposed to a keyboard encoder (iPac).
- If using a Gamepad encoder, your other option is to use RawinputTrackball and use Joy2Key software to set your buttons.

Recommended Hardware: (other hardware does work, but these are recommended for an authentic to Golden Tee experience)

- 3" Happ Trackball with red boards - requires an Optiwiz (From GroovyGameGear)
Button input requires an iPac or similar keyboard encoder.
- Elwood's firmware with an Arduino replaces the need for both Optiwiz and iPac.. You need an Arduino Micro/Leonardo (recommend ordering a presoldered device)

GRID (GRID)

How to change the game's resolution:
edit:
Sega\Grid\hardwaresetting\hardware_settings_config.XML

original 720p resolution:

			<refreshRate rate="60" />
		</resolution>

for 1080p, change the following values in the hardware_settings_config.XML file:

	<graphics_card>
		<resolution width="1920" height="1080" aspect="16:9" fullscreen="true" vsync="1" oldWidth="1920" oldHeight="1080">
			<refreshRate rate="60" />
		</resolution>

You will also need to edit the maxWidth value, so scroll down to the end of the XML file:

	<data>
		<res mem="270" maxWidth="1920" />
    </data>

you may also need to add the new resolution in this XML file (unconfirmed, may work without this change):
Sega\Grid\hardwaresetting\hardware_settings_info.XML

add these lines after the last resolution entry:

		<resolution width="1920" height="1080" aspect="normal">

- Game only works in windowed mode. Trying to run it in fullscreen will result in an assertion error, which has never been fixed by the TP devs.
- You may have to hide your windows taskbar in order to see the bottom edge of the window.

This game is also known as "Rhythmvaders 2" in areas outside of Japan and is displayed as such in-game.

\data\system.cfg has various system settings.

Guitar Hero Arcade Edition (GHA)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! This is a game that will require game folder renaming after you extract it, or else you're just going to run into problems running the game. See the "RAW THRILLS path length limits" section in this document for all the details.

~64-character limit (old engine, strictest):
This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "GHA" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

- requires TPUI to be run as Admin
- game won't work in fullscreen, game's window goes off into the netherland
- run game in windowed mode, then use Borderless Gaming to force it into fullscreen

order of guitar buttons are:
GREEN RED YELLOW BLUE ORANGE

  A S D F G

if playing with a keyboard, assign keyboard keys in the order they are written, such as A, S, D, F, G keys.

For those of you uninitiated on how to play basic GH:
- for each note that passes over the FRET line (the line of 5 colored buttons on the lower part of the screen), you need to press the corresponding color key AND use the up or down STRUM key AT THE SAME TIME.

If a note has a solid line after it, hold the key until the line ends, and let go of the key. you do not have to hold the strum key down, just press it to activate at the beginning of the move.

TO RECAP..
- to hit a note, press both the colored FRET key, AND either up/down STRUM key AT THE SAME TIME.
- figure it out from there, or watch someone play the game on a real GH console guitar to get a better idea.

If you're having any sort of issue with game resolutions, the game writes some configurations to the following location:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Aspyr\Guitar Hero III\AspyrConfig.XML
if moving the game to another machine, you might want to remember to copy this file over too as it may contain save data.

Gunslinger Stratos (Gunslinger)
====================================================================
Gunslinger Stratos 3 (Gunslinger)
====================================================================
H2Overdrive (H2Overdrive)

~96-character limit (mid-era engine):
These titles used the Phoenix or early Unicorn loader. They’ll choke above 96, but 80–90 is still safest. These usually run on Linux builds with slightly safer path logic (longer structs), but still choke >96.

This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "H2OVER" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

Game works fine with Xinput.

How to setup a network to play against other computers:

All you need to do is make sure all the IP addresses for the games are in the same network subnet, and aren't being used by another device on your network. Since there is no subnet mask entry available as an option in this particular game, I am assuming that TPUI internally has the subnet mask setup as 255.255.255.0

So, for example, to setup 8 computers to play the game, and if your local router is setup to use addresses within this IP range, set them up as follows in the game settings on each machine. 192.168.0.x is a common home router address range, as is 192.168.1.x. Just adjust as necessary.

Cabinet 1: 192.168.0.130
Cabinet 2: 192.168.0.131
Cabinet 3: 192.168.0.132
Cabinet 4: 192.168.0.133
Cabinet 5: 192.168.0.134
Cabinet 6: 192.168.0.135
Cabinet 7: 192.168.0.136
Cabinet 8: 192.168.0.137

On each of the physical computers representing each cabinet, you would need to setup the Ethernet network interface card (NIC) and give them each a static IP address the same as the ones assigned above.

Computer 1 (representing Cabinet 1), change the NIC settings to:
IP address: 192.168.0.130
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default Gateway: 192.168.0.1

.. repeat on the other computers.

Use a search engine or an AI bot to ask how to change your Ethernet settings on your computer(s), or for further clarification if you're still confused.

FIRST GAME RUN:
First game run you will need to set the time and calibrate the guns. Both P1 and P2 start buttons need to be mapped in order to make selections and exit the service menu. A hint would be to map P1 and P2 to a single mouse, and the P1/P2 triggers to the left and right mouse buttons respectively.

Hummer (Hummer)

- has the flicker and shader fix applied, with the original files tagged.

YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST CALIBRATE THE GAS PEDAL and BUTTONS IN THE SERVICE MENU!!
If you don't, the pedal will not go to the maximum value of FFh and you'll never go fast enough. Also, the button to land needs to be calibrated or you'll never land properly.
====================================================================
Hummer Extreme Edition (hummerextreme)

- has the flicker and shader fix (by Nezarn) applied
- language options in the service menu are English and Chinese
- native resolution 1280x768

I have changed the FRAME_COUNT to 30 as this is required for the game to play properly. If the opponents are super-fast and lapping you, read below.

Why are the opponents way faster than me?
- you edited the \data-hummer\config\kernel.nut file and set the FRAME_COUNT higher than 30.
- change the FRAME_COUNT to 30. if it is set higher, the AI will not behave properly.

Why does this game contain 124,817 files in 16,259 folders?

Symbolic links (symlinks) in Linux are special types of files that point to another file or directory, functioning like a shortcut. They allow you to reference a file's path without duplicating its contents.

In the game's original Linux-based OS, the following two folder locations listed below contain many subfolders with identical contents in each of them. Linux uses symlinks to create copies of these files and point to an original file location, thus saving space.

However, symlinks cannot exist on Windows NTFS drives (at least not linux's ext-based flavor of symlinks). In order for all these symlinked files to exist on a Windows platform, any symbolic links had to be replaced with the real files. This is why the game is about 150MB larger than the original Linux version.

LAN Networking (2-4 Players)
Setup

- Set IP addresses of each LAN machine in GAME SETTINGS for Hummer in TeknoParrotUI. You must set both the IP of the machine itself, and then the IP of each intended connected machine.
- Do this for each machine intended to be connected.
- Enter test menu on each machine and set the Cab ID according to how you setup the IPs in TeknoParrotUI
- Also in test menu, set the total number of cabs intended to be connected
- Game should enter a network check screen after PLEASE WAIT... screen, once all machines make it to this screen they should find eachother and connect successfully.

Always allow Window Firewall to pass through communication of this game. This should auto pop-up upon first execution (Alt+Tab to view or exit game).

====================================================================
HyperSports 2011 Remake (HyperSportsChina)

On first boot, you will need to set the clock in the service menu and save. You can also set free play, but make sure you map the P2 buttons as they are needed to change the sub-menu options.

If you cannot get the coin button to map properly (no input):
- the key mapped to the "Service" key is the coin button. I don't know why the TP Devs never fixed this.
====================================================================
Ikaruga (Ikaruga)

Game requires a "sys.save.1" and "sys.save.yyyymmddhhmmss" file to pre-exist, otherwise the game will throw an error during startup and recreate the files, then start the game.
====================================================================
Infinity Blade FX (InfinityBladeFX)

On first run, the game will prompt you to find the "TeknoParrot.dll" from your TP install folder. It will be inside the "TeknoParrot" subfolder. The dll changes from time to time with TPUI updates, so the dll will not be wrapped into the game distro.

When you select the TeknoParrot.dll file's location, a "TPFIX.ini" file will be created in the \Binaries\Win32 folder, and the absolute path to that dll is written inside the ini file. If you move your teknoparrot install folder somewhere else, be sure to either update this ini file, or delete it and re-choose the dll's new location the next time you run the game.

matrix32.dll fix is already included.
dinput.dll fix is already included.
P1.png and P2.png crosshairs are already in \Binaries\Win32 folder.

I can't get the crosshairs to show up at all, no matter what game setting I choose. Other players have the same problem, seems there is no solution nor did the devs ever bother to look into it.

When you press the ESC key to exit the game, the game does not exit cleanly and will show a "Failed to run the process" error in the command window. Either press the ESC key again to close the command prompt window, or click on "Force Quit Game".

LAN Networking is currently broken and network connectivity does not appear to establish. In Store battle mode will be greyed out and Network testing in the Test Menu fails.

Setting up for LAN does not affect the ability to run this game in standalone mode.

Setup

Edit the Game Settings within TeknoParrotUI.
Set the "Ip" network IP address to the "IPv4 Address" of the current cabinet (Run "cmd.exe /k ipconfig").
Set both "Gateway" and "Dns1" network IP address to your "Default Gateway" address.
Set "BroadcastIP" to broadcast address of your IP/Subnet (this will be x.x.x.255 for a /24 IP Address on the Subnet 255.255.255.0).
Set "Cab1IP" and "Cab2IP" to the IP address of the cabinet that will represent Seat Number 1 and 2, respectively (see Test Menu below).
Enable the Test Mode option and run Game.
Enter Game Assignments.
Set a unique Seat Number and save.
Exit and disable the Test Mode slider and re-run Game.

Always allow Window Firewall to pass through communication of this game. This should auto pop-up upon first execution (Alt+Tab to view or exit game).

- setting high resolutions using Intel GPU will result in the car appearing to go way slower than it should be relative to its in-game speed
- set the same resolutions in "Graphics - Screen" and "Graphics - Render" areas
- use a pure 16:9 resolution ("divisible by 8") such as:

- TP will only run the game windowed, this is TP's fault and not the game. Can't edit the ini to force it either, it won't work. I didn't try the Borderless Gaming app yet.
- do not delete JLH_default_settings.ini
- you can safely delete EECrash.dmp, Heroes.log

- read the READ-ME!!!.txt left by the crack author for additional game notes regarding required codecs and such.

*** You don't need TP to run this game, just run JLA.exe ***

- edit the JLH.ini file to run the game in fullscreen and a different resolution:

Fullscreen=true
ScreenResolutionX=1920

there are also some built-in cheats:

Left Shoulder button = complete level immediately
Right Shoulder button = defeat all enemies currently on screen

Keyboard Left Arrow key = Service menu
 - use the up and down arrow keys to move in the menu, then use the left and right arrow keys to move in and out of the sub-menu(s)
 - when on an option you want to modify, press the right arrow to make the box turn RED, which means you can now make changes
 - use the right arrow key on the "PLAY GAME" button to exit

Keyboard Right Arrow key = listen to your heroes say "FOR JUSTICE!". This is probably the best thing about this game.. this game sucks ass otherwise.

King of Fighters Maximum Impact Regulation A (KingofFightersMaximumImpactRegulationA)

Game will start to a black screen and background title movie audio playing. Press the coin button and you'll get the static title screen picture and the game will carry on. This workaround is from adding d3d8.dll, d3d9.dll, dddraw.dll, and wined3d.dll to the game folder beside game.exe from WineD3DForWindows_10.16 (or any recent build, doesn't really matter). Just make sure they are the x86 dll's and not x64.. the game did come out in 2007 after all.

There is a problem with TPUI not handling the .sfd video files properly. There are some short in-game video files that will not play either and you'll be presented with a black screen with the audio playing. Just wait them out and carry on playing the game. You can play any of these .sfd videos in VLC or MPC-HC if you want to watch them.

The game's movie files (*.sfd) will not play back the video portion of the files, only the audio. There are 5 movie files in data\__gmdata\movie\:

bargein.sfd (5s, "new challenger, clown")
bargein2.sfd	(5s, "new challenger")
gover.sfd (6s, "game over")
kof_op.sfd (1m19s, "attract video")
staff.sfd (2m11s, "end credits")

All except for kof_op.sfd are in-game videos. kof_op.sfd is the attract title video. All can be played in any common video player (VLC, MPC-HC, etc). They are mpeg1 video and adpcm_adx audio.

It is not the fault of the video files, but the fault of the game and an old codec that is either missing, or not being handled properly by the emulator. This is an old problem and has never been fixed by the TP Devs.

Relative input is moving the target cursor based on the target cursor's position. RawInput uses absolute input which is moving the cursor based on the X- or Y-position of the joystick itself. Relative Input is for XInput (gamepad) usage only.

If the game crashes, apply the following fix to the "<GameFolder>\LLA\Engine\Config\BaseEngine.ini" file:
change AutoReloadChangedShaders = False

Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (SegaOlympic2016)

PORTRAIT MODE is this game's native format. If you want the game to look its best, use a monitor in Portrait mode.

Setup a monitor in portrait mode and change its orientation in your graphics card control panel to PORTRAIT. Then, setup the game in TPUI game settings to:

General - Custom Resolution (Stretches) - DISABLED
General - Resolution Width: 1080
General - Resolution Width: 1920

Start the game and enjoy the game in its native orientation.

If you really must play it in landscape mode, use the Landscape version that uses ReShade/ArcCabView to rotate and re-scale the screen to fit on your landscape monitor. There is a bit of scaling artifacting so things might look a tiny bit jaggy and you got the black bars on the left and right of the monitor due to the scaling, but its not game breaking. It's definitely playable if you don't have the option to rotate your monitor. Use the following game settings:

General - Custom Resolution (Stretches) - ENABLED
General - Resolution Width: 1920
General - Resolution Width: 1080

Game works fine otherwise.
====================================================================
Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (SegaOlympic2020)

PORTRAIT MODE is this game's native format. If you want the game to look its best, use a monitor in Portrait mode.

This game has no need for ReShade or 3rd party parlor tricks. TP Devs decided to include their own rotation and scaling components, which turned out great (landscape mode is crisp and sharp, way better than the reshade 2016 version).

Setup a monitor in portrait mode and change its orientation in your graphics card control panel to PORTRAIT. Then, setup the game in TPUI game settings to:
General - Fullscreen Display Rotation:	CLOCKWISE or COUNTER CLOCKWISE
	Graphics - Enable Bezel: DISABLED
General - Use Custom Resolution: ENABLED
	Resolution Width: 1080
	Resolution Height: 1920

If you choose to play it on a landscape monitor, you'll want to use the included bezel and the following game settings:
	General - Windowed: DISABLED
General - Fullscreen Display Rotation:	DISABLED
	Graphics - Enable Bezel: ENABLED
General - Use Custom Resolution: ENABLED
	Resolution Width: 1920
	Resolution Height: 1080

If your bezel is not working, double-check the resolution width and height are set properly.

Mario Kart Arcade GP DX (1.05.21-OF) (2016-11-08) (USA) [Namco ES3A] [TP] (MKDXUSA)

This supports the 1.05-OF and 1.06-OF English versions of Mario Kart.

If your "MK_AGP3_FINAL.exe" requires a 4GB patch, TPUI will apply on game startup if your exe is not patched. It will backup the original file with a ".back" extension.

4GB patch is already applied on the exe. You can't play the game without it.
====================================================================
Mario Kart Arcade GP DX (1.06.35-OF) (2022-08-01) (USA) [Namco ES3A] [TP]	(MKDXUSA106)

This supports the 1.05-OF and 1.06-OF English versions of Mario Kart.

4GB patch is already applied on the exe. You can't play the game without it.

Game does NOT have save capabilities.

If your "MK_AGP3_FINAL.exe" requires a 4GB patch, TPUI will apply on game startup if your exe is not patched. It will backup the original file with a ".back" extension.

Game REQUIRES a specific Direct3D dll to be in the game's root folder (no longer needed to be placed in the Windows system folder). The game folder contains the 64-bit version of "D3D11Ref.dll" for use on 64-bit operating systems. If you have a 32-bit OS, you'll need to get the correct 32-bit version of "D3D11Ref.dll" from the TP Discord and use it instead.

To set a custom resolution and expand the game screen to match:
	- in game settings, enable "General - CustomResolution"
	- in "General - ResolutionWidth" and "General - ResolutionHeight", enter your screen dimension (ie. 1920, 1080)

Otherwise, the game will default to 720p resolution (1360x768). If you run the game without a CustomResolution set on a monitor with a higher resolution than 720p, the game will shrink the game screen to 720p and you will have a big ugly black border around it.

You must create and use a Mario Kart Arcade GP DX Profile ID. Get one from the teknoparrot.com site, login to your account, and select "Online Profiles" from the top menu. Your unique MKGP ProfileID will be listed there. DO NOT SHARE IT WITH ANYONE! Copy the number into the game settings under "Network - PlayerId".

"Network - Gateway", set this to however your local network is configured. In Windows, use the command prompt of "ipconfig /all" to find out what your main IP address' gateway IP is. If you're on a typical home router, setting it to xxx.xxx.xxx.1 should suffice. If you can't figure this out, go chat with an AI bot and figure it out.

If you are patching your own v1.10 Japan game folder to English:
The English mod "files" folder and its included .dds files DO NOT need to be kept in the game folder after patching. The .dds files are only file patches which get used to inject/patch data into existing files in the game's "Data" folder, using the patcher. Again, after patching the game to English, you can remove the "files" folder, as it is not needed.

Using the service key to move the cursor and the test key to make a selection, select "clear backup data" and perform the "ALL DATA CLEAR" task. Make any other changes you want, then exit. TPUI creates two ROM files and places them in its AppData folder. TPUI will use these ROMs anytime the game is started. These files are located in the following location on your PC and are safe to delete, which resets the service menu back to its initial state:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\TeknoParrot
delete these 2 files:

Men in Black (MIB)

The dump included in the collection is dated 2024-09-13. There is an older dump of the game dated 2022-07-28. Dupe file analysis shows that very, very little changed between dumps (a dozen or so common Unity dll's were updated, and a couple newer videos added). Gameplay appears identical in both versions. The newer dump will be only be kept in this collection.

As of the release date of this game, it works.. kinda:
- Press P1 coin and it will auto-start the game. Coins will not be consumed, so now after each game wave and boss is finished, the game will just carry on to the next round once the countdown/continue timer reaches 10 seconds.
- P2 player is locked to the center of the screen and randomly shoots and kills stuff for you. it also takes some of your score away. Still, easy enough to win 1000 tickets every so often.
- The Test Menu IS NOT WORKING. It is still encrypted and the shell not yet patched. Changes will likely need to be made externally, such as with BepinEx. I haven't seen any patches worthy of including yet, so the game is currently archived as-is.
- I added the shell data in case it could be useful later on. if you don't want it, strip out everything except the MIB folder, simple as that.

The game has English, Spanish and Turkish languages (currently unselectable)

The game files are a mess as the developers were super lazy with making changes, they just left in old assets. There a bunch of "Attract" videos that are all the same content and look like someone was just messing around with remux settings. At some point the devs decided to convert some of the mp4 to webm and just left all the old files kicking around, wasting space. Someone who bothered to dig into the unity calls could probably figure out what isn't being used anymore. Or just do what I did.. leave it all alone and chalk the extra couple of gigs of wasted storagef space as exactly that.

This game is horrendously easy, a money-to-ticket converter for the kiddies is all this piece of shit game is. Very, very disappointing. One can only hope the test menu has an "arcade" feature to unlock.

Otherwise, you DO NOT NEED this .dll to play the game, just ensure the aforementioned "General - GraphicsFix" option is disabled.

It was fully working with the latest TP and bepinex updates, but since the PLAY! and RPCS3 emulators came on board, the devs have done something to mess up certain unity games like this one, so now the graphics do lots of screen tearing.

No controls either. back to square one with this game.

Nicktoons Nitro Racing (NicktoonsNitro)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! This is a game that will require game folder renaming after you extract it, or else you're just going to run into problems running the game. See the "RAW THRILLS path length limits" section in this document for all the details.

~64-character limit (old engine, strictest):
This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "NTN" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

Can't insert coins: You must set Free Play in Test menu (if not already set)

Game hangs/crashes on "REBOOTING" screen after exiting test menu. Known issue with no current work-around, however, the settings will save fine, just press ESC to exit and run game again.

Otherwise, game runs fine on a controller.

- setup game to use RawInput so you can use your mouse to move in-game
- if you have multiple displays (such as a 2nd monitor or marquee screen), the game chooses to run on your secondary monitor. I have no idea idea why it does this, and it happens on other user's PC's as well. The workaround is to turn off your additional monitors and only run one screen to play the game on your main monitor. This is another thing the TP devs need to fix.
====================================================================
Nosferatu Lilinor (Nosferatu)
====================================================================
Offroad Thunder (1999) (OffroadThunder)

You can extract the game from the MAME CHD "offrthnd.chd"
- ensure you have 7-Zip installed on your system
- obtain offrthnd.chd
- download a recent version of MAME from https://www.mamedev.org/release.html
- inside the download is "chdman.exe", copy that to a temp folder that also contains offrthnd.chd
- start a command prompt window, change the path to the temp folder and type:
	chdman extracthd -i offrthnd.chd -o offroad.img
- when complete, right-click on "offroad.img" and in the context menu, select 7-Zip and "Extract to offroad\"
- after that img is extracted, go into the "offroad" folder
- using the same extraction method as above, right click on "0.fat" and "1.fat" and extract each into their own folder (ignore the "2" file, it does not contain any data and is only a placeholder)
- take the file contents of both "0" and "1" folders and combine them together into a single folder called whatever you want
- take that folder and put it with your other TP games.. you've got the game files now.
- delete any leftover files, you don't need them.

If you just extracted the game yourself from the CHD, you will need to patch your game exe:
- get "ThunderPatcher&ThunderGlide2x" fix patch from the TP Discord server
- put Glide2x.dll and ThunderPatcher.exe in the game folder
- drag and drop the "offroad3.exe" game file on to ThunderPatcher.exe. It'll create 2 new executables, offroad-x86.exe and offroad-x64.exe.
- delete ThunderPatcher.exe from your game folder.

- Included Languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch
- No audio? TURN UP THE AUDIO settings in the test menu. Factory settings has the audio set to near zero. master=70, attract=40, minimum=10 is probably a good starting point. adjust as necessary.
- game allows for a bezel. supply your own, as there aren't any decent ones to include yet.
====================================================================
Operation G.H.O.S.T. (OG)

- Set DongleRegion and PCBRegion to JAPAN to allow to save settings in the test menu.
- Calibrate the guns in the test menu. setup and use DirectInput for this, as XInput and RawInput can be finicky with the test and service keys.
- game has English, Japanese and Russian subtitles.
- Setup controls for PLAYER2, otherwise you won't have any controls

resolution choices:

"General - Windowed" set to ENABLED.

gs2.exe = I left this exe in, named as such, so the users who don't read game notes and readme's won't be confused when they go to choose an exe in TPUI. This is the 1920x1080 version.

gs2_1024x600.exe = The game's original native resolution of 1024x600.
gs2_1843x1080.exe = proportionally accurate upscale to 1080p, if you want things exact.
gs2_1920x1080.exe = a slight bit of horizontal stretching to fill out the screen's width to the edges, most people wouldn't really even notice the tiny bit of distortion.
gs2_2560x1440.exe = 1440p

If you have another resolution you want to use, run "OpGhost_ResChanger.exe" in the game folder, create a copy of one of the game executables, and patch it to your liking.

You can setup and use the ReShade patch and add antialiasing and anisotropic filtering so the game looks a bit nicer around the edges. Give it a try and see what you think.

What's really interesting about this game is that it is written in LUA. If you run the 1024x600 windowed mode exe, you can interact with the LUA menus in the game window and play around with behind-the-scenes settings!

Pengo! Online (Pengo5)

The original Pengo! arcade game was touchscreen, so use your mouse at the start to select your Aime card.

AIME Card screen:

left box: "Use Aime"
right box: "Don't use Aime" (no saving)
bottom box: "show access code" (this won't actually work with your APMID, so don't bother with it)

if you choose Use Aime and you haven't created your card yet, the next screen will ask you to. In the bottom right of the screen, choose the left box (says "yes").
Your Aime code will be loaded and you'll see your username. Press the lower left box again (yes) to continue.

Point Blank X (PointBlankX)
PBX100-2-NA-MPR0-A63

Point Blank X is the English title, other regions it is Gun Bullet X. Region variants of the title video will play when China and Japan languages are set in the test menu.

Before you start the game for the first time, setup your controller for DirectInput and map keys to your keyboard to be able to control the test menu.

You will get a "no ticket" error on first boot - press the test key and then exit the menu. Restart the game.

interesting test menu options:
Game Mode > Danger or Kids (basically, adult or kid modes)
Other > Languages available: JP, ID, RU, TH, BR, ES, KR, CN, US

Once you have the test menu setup the way you want, you can change your controller to RawInput and setup your lightgun/mouse. Use a PLAYER2 controller setup if your PLAYER1 setup alone doesn't work.

General - Render Hook: set to "Present".
For more info, search this document for "What is a Render Hook" for a detailed explanantion.

Pokken Tournament (Ver. A--, 24.05) (2017-03-30) [Namco ES3B] [TP].zip

- game will error on the card reader and network, which causes the fail messages to display on the screen. Play the X02 version instead which doesn't suffer from this issue.
====================================================================
Pokken Tournament (Ver. X02, 26.02) (2018-12-13) [Namco ES3B] [TP].zip

- game runs in Offline mode as it is the last version release of the game.
- game works fine.

Police Trainer 2 (PoliceTrainer2)

- native resolution is 640x480 (barf)
- jack up the res to 1920x1080

Power Putt Live 2013 (PowerPuttLive2013)

the game starts with "Raw Talk" (adult trash-talking commentary) enabled by default, and the included leaderboards are populated with some fairly crude names. If you plan on letting your kids play this game or you're just an overly sensitive snowflake, I would highly recommend:
- disabling Raw Talk (Service Menu > PowerPutt Golf Settings/Audits > Game Options > Raw Talk)
- resetting the leaderboards (Service Menu > PowerPutt Golf Settings/Audits > Reset Leaderboards)

Primeval Hunt (Primevil)

The game doesn't launch:
- COPY the 2 Lindbergh.so files from /data/dvr/cri/Lindbergh/libs folder into your TeknoParrot/ElfLdr2/libs install folder

The game hangs at a white box at launch:
- Apply the NVIDIA/INTEL shader fix
- This has already been done in my distro

Touch screen doesn't work:
- turn off under Test menu and you now be able to move automatically to the next scene.

- Set controller to DirectInput to your keyboard and set the test and service buttons up
- Run the "TEST MODE" button
	Game Assignments:
		- Violence: set to "RED" (default is YELLOW)
		- Touch Panel: set to "OFF" (default is ON)
	Exit test menu
- change controller back to RawInput

- native resolution is 1280x480
- setup PLAYER2 controls so you will have usable controls, just like in any other 2-player shooter

Rabbids Hollywood (RabbidsHollywood)

I had to apply the "triggers & crosshairs" fix (Assembly-CSharp.dll), otherwise assigned TPUI controls don't work

Use RabbidsHollywood_Operator.exe to set the game operator settings (this is done with a BepInEx plugin, and the operator settings are modified with the included app)
- set your desktop resolution (saves entry to registry)
- also set GUN 1 to ON
- set any other things you want (probably don't need to)
- click on SAVE and exit app (will create a small .conf file)
- run Teknoparrot

The trigger button in this game is seriously messed up, even with the trigger fix. The trick with getting your gun into "autofire" is to perform a double-click with your left mouse button, but on the 2nd click, HOLD IT DOWN. 90% of the time you will be successful in getting yourself into autofire mode.

There really isn't any single-shot mode and the real arcade game expects you to hold the trigger down, since to make each single shot requires a double-click. It's about as good as it gets until the devs fix this.
====================================================================
Raccoon Rampage (RaccoonRampage)

I chose to include two versions of Raccoon Rampage to allow people to pick depending on what hardware they are using. Originally the game was released with ReShade baked in to provide Sinden lightgun support. Knowing that not everyone would want to see the white bars around the screen edges if they're not using a lightgun, I created an "Original" version with ReShade removed.

====================================================================
Raiden III (1.02) (RaidenIIINesica)

If controls are not working, RUN TPUI IN ADMIN MODE. Then exit out and try running TPUI in non-admin mode and see if the problem clears up.

When Taito re-released Raiden III on NESiCAxLive, they standardized it for modern NESiCA cabinets — which, by then, all used widescreen 16:9 LCDs mounted horizontally.

To make it work, Taito didn’t rewrite the game from scratch; they did a wrapper-style adaptation, very similar in spirit to Raiden IV NESiCA

Display Mode: Forced 1280×720 landscape output
Internal Render:	The old 768×1024 TATE framebuffer still exists internally; it’s scaled and centered
Bezel Artwork: Added left/right side DDS textures (e.g., raiden3_left_hd.dds, raiden3_right_hd.dds)
Renderer: Uses Taito’s NxLRenderer.dll / NxLCountDownRenderer overlay layer
Countdown & UI: NESiCA overlay elements composited after the game’s render pass

So the NESiCA release runs the original vertical gameplay inside a widescreen wrapper.
====================================================================
Raiden III (2.01J) (RaidenIII)

This is the 2005 Taito Type X version , which is hardcoded in Portrait mode.

- Native orientation: Portrait (TATE)
- Internal resolution: roughly 768×1024 (varies slightly by build).
- Graphics API: DirectX 9.0c, fixed-function pipeline, single render target.
- Cabinet setup: The monitor was physically rotated; the game logic, HUD, and player input all assumed a vertical layout.
- Executable behavior: It sets up a window or full-screen surface with a tall aspect ratio; nothing in the original binaries supports landscape scaling.

So, yeah — totally designed as a proper vertical shooter from the ground up.
====================================================================
Raiden IV (1.00J) (RaidenIV)

- This is the 2007 Taito Type X version, which is hardcoded in Portrait mode.
- native resolution is 720x1280.
- Needs frame limiting enabled in game setup.
====================================================================
Raiden IV (1.03J) (RaidenIVNesica)

This is the landscape version of Raiden IV for NESiCA.

WHY is there no portrait mode version of Raiden IV for NESiCA?
--------------------------------------------------------------

- The Original Game Was Portrait (TATE).
- The original arcade Raiden IV (2007, Taito Type X) was a native 720×1280 portrait game.
- The core renderer and gameplay area were meant for a vertical screen. In real cabinets, the monitor was physically rotated (TATE mode), like classic Raiden or Mushihimesama setups.

When Raiden IV was added to the NESiCA lineup, Taito did not want operators to have to rotate monitors anymore (most NESiCA cabinets are fixed 16:9 LCDs).

So they:
- Re-rendered or scaled the game’s portrait gameplay into a pillarboxed landscape output (1280×720).
- Added side artwork / bezels, provided by those .dds textures:
		raiden4_left_hd.dds
		raiden4_right_hd.dds
- Used the NxL overlay renderer to composite those textures around the main game viewport.

Essentially, the game still “thinks” it’s drawing in portrait mode internally — NESiCA’s renderer just sandwiches that between two static textures to fill a 16:9 frame.

Undoing this makes no sense, as it would no longer be valid for NESiCA cabinets.
====================================================================
Rainbow BomberGirl (RainbowBombergirl)

Must use latest BepInEx plugin

MUST USE CONTROLLER! Setup XINPUT

to use mouse for touchscreen (screen will accept touch input after character select screen)
- disable "HideCursor"
- remove "Touch" controller entries (leave blank)
- use mouse in-game

Game runs natively in 1920x1080, using other resolutions may impact the layout of the screens, including reversing the order (main screen on left, touchscreen on right)

The original game ran its main screen in portait mode, and the secondary touchscreen monitor in portait mode. If you run the game in forced single screen mode, both screens will be combined, and results in an empty black space above the portait mode touchscreen. You can add a bezel into the empty area if you want to via the TPUI game setup.

Shining Force - Cross Elysion (ShiningForceCrossElysion)

- native resolution is 1280x720

requires a shader fix for NVidia and AMD GPU's:
- In the "rom" folder, find the "shader.farc" file.
- you will see 3 other similar files, as such:
		shader.farc.AMD
		shader.farc.NVIDIA
		shader.farc.ORIGINAL
(If you're a basic Windows user, you may need to "unhide extensions" in your file explorer to see the full filenames including extensions. Go take a computer course while you're at it, i'm not teaching you how to do this here.)
- Choose the file that applies to your system (either NVidia or AMD graphics), delete the existing shader.farc file and rename the applicable file by removing the "AMD" or "NVIDIA" extension so that it is renamed back to "shader.farc".
- Congrats, you patched your game.

HOW TO USE THE IC CARD TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS
---by Eggman--------------------------------

You will need to use IC Card files that are stored on your local hard drive.

1. in the root of your game folder, open the "Cross Elysion IC Card" folder and then ask yourself:

	(A) "I want to walk through the entire process of the card loading and updating":
			- copy the two files inside the "original card" folder and put them in the root of your C:\ drive
		or
	(B) "I am impatient, and I want to skip having to update the original card to the newer format the game wants"
			- copy the two files inside the "updated card" folder and put them in the root of your C:\ drive

	THESE ARE CLEAN IC Cards.

I'm going to make this extremely easy for you to follow along. For each Step explanation below, there is an accompanying screenshot to look at - just like a picture book!

REMEMBER, these selections are all on a 60-second timer, so it might take you a few attempts to get it right if you can't read Japanese.

Start the game and once you get to the "SEGA" attract screen, press the start or F2 button.

Step 1:
- click on the IC Customize button so it turns red, then click on the green circle

Step 2:
- Press the F2 key on your keyboard to read the IC Card file

Step 3:
- The card is read in, and basic stats are shown in the bottom left corner of the screen. (If this is not the file you want, in the bottom right corner, press the "IC disconnect" button to unload the card)

Step 4:
- Click the top-left green box to turn it red, then click on the green button in the bottom-right corner of the screen

Step 5:
- Press the YES button. This is just a wall of text telling you it is going to update your card.

Step 6:
- update in progress screen, just wait

Step 7:
- card update complete. press the purple button in the bottom right to finish

Step 8:
- you're back on the SEGA screen, so press the start or F2 button

Step 9:
- now back on the main menu, press the F2 button on your keyboard

Step 10:
- look, your unnamed character is here! ain't he grand.

Step 11:
- click on the "Game Play" box and press the Green button to continue.

Get the Google Translate app running on your phone, because my help for you is done here and you're on your own!

**NOTE**
- Currently you cannot change or name your character. You shall remain nameless.

**WARNING**
- both Cross Elysion and Cross Raid games use the IDENTICAL filenames in the SAME location for their IC Cards.
- if you want to switch between games, you MUST keep them separated so they don't get corrupted!
- I would recommend creating two folders on your C:\ drive, let's call them "Cross Elysion IC Card" and "Cross Raid IC Card", and placing each game's relative iccard.bin and iccard.txt inside them for safekeeping
- When you want to play one of the Shining Force games, copy or move that game's IC files into the root of the C:\ drive before starting the game
- when you're done playing, put the two IC files back in their folder for safekeeping
- if you switch between the games and forget about your IC card files and the wrong ones are in your C:\ drive, you're screwed and there's no fixing them. SO BE CAREFUL.

You can be real smart about this and only play one game Shining Force game at a time so you don't have a chance to fuck your progress up.

Silent Hill The Arcade (SilentHill)

Fixes already added to game:
- sound fix applied
- English patch applied
- French and Italian languages added

Fixes YOU MUST DO once before playing:
- in the game folder, right click on "FixSilentHillCodec.bat" and "run as Administrator"
- This will copy the "clvsd.ax" codec file to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" and register the codec in your system.
- If you don't apply the codec fix, the game will crash after player selection.

- Native resolution of game is 1280x960
- increasing the resolution of the game above native resolution results in the same look.. it ain't gonna get any better looking.

Game settings:
Crosshair - Enable: Enable
Crosshair - Render Hook: EndScene

When setting up player controls with RawInput, the "1" key is not mapped/hooked internally. You'll have to map it to another key. I typically use the "1" key for PLAYER1 start.

- Disabling Free Play does nothing.. game is hardcoded for FREE PLAY.
- someone mentioned the coin key is actually mapped to the service key.. if that means anything to anyone.

This game has cheats? Why. this game is so linear, simple and boring.

SiN (SiN)

Other things to change in \base\players\blade\config.cfg
set vid_fullscreen "1"
- that will give you fullscreen windowed. that's as good as it gets.

The main menu does not scale, so you'll end up with a very small HUD during gameplay on higher resolutions.

1280x720 is the max in-game resolution setting.

You can hit the function keys to get the main menu up and do some tweaking and messing around, even start the story mode but it just crashes.

This game was modified for a light gun, so there is no amount of screwing around you can do presently to get any sort of crosshairs to come up.

GAME ONLY WORKS WITH ONE MONITOR TURNED ON. If you have any other extra monitors on your PC turned on, you'll need to turn them off to play the game.

The only thing I can think of is TPUI getts messed up with multiple monitor sources when it tries to handle the Nesys patching/hooking. If I'm wrong, please correct me as I'd really enjoy knowing!

Rename the game folder to "FNFSB2" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

Enable "General - Framelimiter"

Game works fine with XInput.
====================================================================
Super Bikes 3 (SB3)

- TPUI only supports the x64 version of this game
- requires BepInEx and latest plugin to work (get plugin from Discord)
- requires Unity Fmod x64_v1.10.10
- some people report the game will only work in 60Hz mode for them if they have their monitor set to a different frequency. Use Riva Tuner or make changes to your GPU settings.
- some graphic cards have massive stalling/screen glitching. My T1000 won't play the game properly - the game still runs, it's just unplayable.

There is a standalone x86 version of this game available and works great for me, so if this game is causing you problems with fucked up graphics, use the x86 version.

Native resolution is 1360x768

Game writes to the registry:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RawThrills\sb3

and to:
C:\Users\your_username\AppData\LocalLow\RawThrills\sb3

Super Monkey Ball Ticket Blitz (Mballblitz)

- This game is for trackballs only.
- You can use a mouse to get the monkey to start moving, but you won't gain any real speed and end up stuck in various places that have any sort of incline.
- The game chooses one of twelve random levels to start. You only get to play one level per game.

- This game records revealing digital information when it creates text files used to store a player's game stats.
	1. It queries for the hostname of the computer the game is running on
	2. It queries for the current logged on user's local username

The game then creates game stat and replay files based on the hostname, username, and stage number in the following format, for example:
		averageinfo_MyComputerName_MyLocalUserName_stage0xx.txt
		playinfo_MyComputerName_MyLocalUserName_stage0xx.txt
replay_MyComputerName_MyLocalUserName_20250518_130802.rep (this filename also records the date and time)

The game will start writing these files into one of the "playrecord\stage0xx" folders as each level gets played.

If you're a privacy advocate, you will want to ensure you delete these files after playing the game on your own PC before sharing the game files to someone else.

- The "prjMonkey_tv_final.exe" game file is patched to run in 1920x1080.

- The game's native resolution is 1280x720. The closest patch is 1280x768.

- There are additional patched executables available which will force the game window to run in a specific resolution - these executables work fine in TP. Standard 4:3 resolutions will not look correct and the right side of the screen will get cut off, as the game is natively widescreen. Use a widescreen resolution for best results. I have placed these patched exe's in the "various patched resolutions" folder. Simply rename the existing exe and copy the executable you want to use into the main game folder.

- If you have multiple monitors and select a patched resolution larger than your main monitor supports, the game will spread the game screen out over multiple monitors.

- The game's service mode save files are located here:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\TeknoParrot
SBVJ_sram.bin
SBVJ_e2prom.bin

- Use the "test mode" toggle in TPUI to enable running test mode if you want to change things like difficulty, ticket/amusement mode, and game time.
- The game volume is set quite low, and there is no volume adjustment via the service menu. You'll need to crank up your speakers instead.

Running the game without TP:

- Running "Play.exe" directly from the game folder will run the game in fullscreen (non-windowed) mode. Keyboard commands are:
Esc or F11 = exit game
	0 or F10 = insert coin
	1 or F9 = start coin
	PageUp / PageDown = volume +/-
You still need to use a trackball though, you won't get anywhere with a mouse.

- Someone also setup XPadder as a standalone patch to work with "Play.exe", so you can play the game with your gamepad as TP does not currently support movement on gamepads at this time.
 - Install AutoHotKey
 - run XPadder.exe once and add the file association (.xpadderprofile). You can do this either during the XPadder setup, or in the settings (main window, wrench icon in top right, select Installation, and click on Associate files)
 - run "Run_Super_Monkey_Ball_Ticket_Blitz.ahk"
 - game will only run with its default settings and set for ticket redemption (meaning you'll likely never get a jackpot)

It's better to just do it manually,
 - run XPadder.exe
 - to the left of the word "XpadderProfile" is a button that looks like a document. Click on that and select "Open"
 - open the file "XpadderProfile.xpadderprofile"
 - leaving XPadder running, run Play.exe and you'll now be able to control the monkey with your gamepad. Press ESC to exit the game, and close the XPadder window.
 - in Settings > Options, if you enable "AutoOpen last used profile", it will reopen the profile when you run it so you don't have to do it repeatedly.

Sword Art Online Deep Explorer (SAO)

- Game is TOUCHSCREEN, so use the mouse for in-game menu stuff
- I can't get the service menu to work. \testmode\TestMode.exe is a separate executable, but can't be run on its own as it just crashes. Gives a tiny glimpse of the service menu before it does though.
as this game is a redemption game, it would be nice to see if there is an amusement mode in there that can be toggled

Taisen Hot Gimmick 5 - Mirai Eigou (TaisenHotGimmick5)

- This game's inputs are not fully supported in TeknoParrot, so the game is not playable. The workaround for this is to use the TTX-Monitor+ loader, which supports the game's full set of inputs by hooking the JVS interface to your keyboard. This is the rare exception I made for including a 3rd party loader so the game can be played. Perhaps someday the devs can natively add all the required buttons so you won't need to use a separate loader.

- From the game folder, run TTX-Config.exe and setup your keyboard keys. Run TTX-Loader.exe to run the game.
- GAME ONLY WORKS WITH ONE MONITOR TURNED ON. If you have any other extra monitors on your PC turned on, you'll need to turn them off to play the game.

If you try to run the game with multiple monitors turned on, you'll end up with a popup window that has a title of "ƒXƒy[ƒXƒCƒ“ƒx[ƒ_[" and some mojibake line that starts with "MTS", which when deciphered it is saying something to the effect of "MTS system initialization failed". The game is basically saying it can’t talk to its MTS subsystem (Taito’s Multi Terminal System, basically the NESiCAxLive network/auth layer). The only thing I can think of is TPUI getts messed up with multiple monitor sources when it tries to handle the Nesys patching/hooking. If I'm wrong, please correct me as I'd really enjoy knowing!

If you play the game and then turn on a 2nd monitor, the game will crash.

I know mahjong games aren't everyone's cup of tea, but it would be nice to see them not need workarounds.

Target Terror Gold (TargetTerrorGold)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! This is a game that will require game folder renaming after you extract it, or else you're just going to run into problems running the game. See the "RAW THRILLS path length limits" section in this document for all the details.

~64-character limit (old engine, strictest):
This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "TTG" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

- Setup controls for PLAYER2, otherwise you won't have any controls
- the News reporter has a quiet voice vs the blasting reporter music in the background. I'm going to work on jacking up the audio on her voice to make it stand out better vs. the background music.

- If you do a factory reset in the test menu, the next time you start your game, it will crash as the game is NOT generating one of the needed save files.
	-	in the "save" folder, create an empty file with the name "07" with no extension
	-	start the game

The "mainpls.txt" in the \data\sounds\ folder is a playlist for all the .wav files in the game (or at least most of them, there are some that don't even exist).

"Target - Terror Gold Enhanced" (TTGE)

- This is my own personally edited version. I heard enough people say some of the game audio was hard to hear. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it.
- I fixed the wav file responsible for making Carrie's voice very difficult to hear clearly during her news reports.
\data\sounds\music\news-loop.wav

- fixed the wav file responsible for making the checkpoints a moisy mess and also drowns out the female voice checkpoint announcer:
\data\sounds\music\newsloop.wav
- This is also the track that plays on the very first level select screen off of the main menu.
 - applied custom macro bulk edits
 - Effect > Amplify > -12.0db

all other wav's changed:
 - applied custom macro bulk edits: normalize, compressor, filter curve EQ, normalize
 - tightened up the sounds and make them a bit more audible and punchier.

Don't forget to undo the test mode setting and set it back to "main" when you're done accessing the test menu. script is unsigned so might throw a false positive. don't be alarmed, it comes from a trusted source.

ROM: TG2100-1-NA-HDD0-E06

If your RPCS3 dump has an EBOOT.BIN in the root of the SCEEXE000 folder (alongside the ICON0.PNG file, for reference), it needs to be moved.
1. Inside the USRDIR, rename EBOOT.BIN to EBOOT.BIN.BAD
2. from the SCEEXE000 folder, move EBOOT.BIN into the USRDIR folder
3. game will now work.

correct EBOOT.BIN CRC: 3DD05100
incorrect EBOOT.BIN CRC: 919F19EC

For whatever reason, the EBOOT.BIN.BAD file has been hex edited to rename the SCEEXE000 folder to SCEEXE001, which doesn't exist in the TP setup. I don't know why this was done, likely something to do with RPCS3, and I don't care to spend any more time wondering why.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited (ttt2u)
ROM: TG2100-2-NA-HDD0-H05

- First boot will take 5-10 minutes for RPCS3 to create the cache/shader files, which are stored in the RPCS3\cache folder. Once they've been created once, subsequent game boots will be significantly faster.
- On-screen languages available: English, Japanese
- 357security.bin is 0 bytes. Attempting to place any value in the file will result in the game zeroing it out on next boot.

19-2 SYSTEM ERROR:

- ensure you have a REGION.TXT file in the USRDIR. Just paste the following into it:
--------------------------------------------------------
[AC_TG2]
section=region_1
region=1
lang=e
livemonitor=0
lmip=192.168.93.11
server=1
--------------------------------------------------------

- Setting the "lang=" variable is for the on-screen character subtitles. Only "j" and "e" are valid in this disc dump. You will need to save this setting directly in the REGION.TXT file, as currently the TPUI Devs haven't bothered to enable Service mode saving yet.

- The "lmip" variable does not affect anything as the online/networking component is blocked.

- edit the VER01800.TXT file and add "offline" at the end of the "region_x" line that matches with the REGION.TXT file. This puts the game in offline mode and won't enable the online network stuff. It also stops the online icon and message from showing up on the screen. For example:
--------------------------------------------------------
[region_1]
self=GAME0180.SELF karmalimit=1000 karmadec=1 romver=H05 muchagidno=1 muchaappver=0205 pairplay=1 keylatency=1 offline
--------------------------------------------------------

If you leave the game in online mode, you'll be shown 3 errors during boot, but the game will still start. You'll see the online icon and messages during gameplay, which can be annoying.
21-3 USB MEMORY ERROR: NOT FOUND
7-11 CARD R/W DISCONNECT (UNIT 1)
23-1 NETWORK ERROR 1

I can't seem to see any reason to change the region to anything else other than REGION 2 as it contains the on-screen display language setting that can be set to English or Japanese. The other regions only contain slightly different default service settings and no language options, as indicated below (region 1 being the default).

region 1:
	Game Options:
		Game Level: Medium
		Fight Count <1P Game>: 2
		Fight Count <VS Game>: 2
		Character change at continue: Yes
Character change at Vs game: No
		Event Mode: Off
		Pair Play Mode: Off
		Round Time: 80
		Life Bar <1P Game>: Normal
		Life Bar <VS Game>: Normal
		Guard Damage: Off
		Neutral Guard: On
		Hit Color: Red
		Attract Movie: On

region 2:
	Game Options:
		Game Level: Hard
Character change at Vs game: Yes
		Hit Color: Yellow
Display Language: English or Japanese (English is default)

**this is the only region that has a Display Language option**

region 3:
	Game Options:
		Game Level: Hard
Character change at Vs game: Yes
		Hit Color: Yellow

region 5:

Terminator Salvation (Terminator)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! This is a game that will require game folder renaming after you extract it, or else you're just going to run into problems running the game. See the "RAW THRILLS path length limits" section in this document for all the details.

~64-character limit (old engine, strictest):
This game is a problem child. You’ll want to keep this game folder as short as possible.
Rename the game folder to "TERM" (or something else equally as short and sweet).
Put the game folder in the shortest game path possible, such as "D:\TPGames"

If you're playing solo, set yourself up as PLAYER2

How to Remove the Crosshair:
- Disable (uncheck) ForceReticle in TeknoParrot's Terminator Salvation Game Settings menu.
- Launch the game and press the Test Button
- Go to Operator Adjustments > Game Adjustments > Change Shooting Mode to Default or TracerOnly

Do not use "General - HDPatch". It uses your desktop resolution, but the alignment of the in-game graphics won't line up properly.

The native resolution of the game is 640x480, and is what the game exe provided is set for.
====================================================================
The Fast and the Furious - Drift (FNFDrift)

If you want to play this game in a higher resolution, there are CAVEATS!
- the game's internal menus and selection screens are all static 640x480 overlays, and cannot be upscaled. only the rendered graphics can be upscaled.
- therefore, if you set the gameplay to be a higher resolution by replacing the main exe with one that has been hacked to run the game at a higher resolution, the menus will be smaller and off-center, but the actual in-game gameplay will fill your screen and be at the set resolution.
- it is what it is.. take it or leave it.

My distro is patched for 1280x720. There are other resolution patches available, there's a whole pack of them in fact. all that is required is to replace the "sdaemon.exe" with the patched version you want to use, it's as simple as that.

If you don't like the menu weirdness, then play the game in its native 640x480 and everything will be the same as the original game. Won't be pretty, but that's what it is.
====================================================================

other elf's:
apacheM_HD.elf

apacheM_VGA.elf - only one byte in this elf is different from apacheM.elf
- fullscreen: 1280x768 display resolution. It's not VGA.
- windowed: 1280x768 window resolution. Still not VGA.
- fullscreen windowed:	1280x768 display resolution. Not VGA at all.

apachetestM.elf
- this is the only test mode elf that works, and the game must be set to EXPORT region.
- any changes made in the service menu are NOT SAVED, so it's useless for now. It appears TP Devs have not yet implemented service menu changes. Kinda sucks since there are difficulty and story changes that can be made.

apachetestM_HD.elf
- identical to apachetestM.elf

apachetestM_VGA.elf
- does not work in any region setting

~96-character limit (mid-era engine):
These titles used the Phoenix or early Unicorn loader. They’ll choke above 96, but 80–90 is still safest. These usually run on Linux builds with slightly safer path logic (longer structs), but still choke >96.

"Score Submission" setup (zzGeneralNotes)

Enabling this will allow you to submit your game scores to the website leaderboard. When available, it can also create a video recording of your game and saves it in your game folder. It will record up to 10 videos, deleting the oldest video first to make room for new ones.

In relation to Golden Tee (which this feature is mostly used by), playing a Full 18-hole round in Golden Tee creates a 400-500mb video. The size of the video will be in relation to the length of gameplay. The following instructions I've written up will be relative to Golden Tee golf, but other supported games should be just as similar.

Scores are submitted as soon as your game / round of golf ends.

Games supported:
Battle Gear 4 Tuned
Daytona Championship USA
Daytona Championship USA New Season Edition
Dead Heat
Dirty Drivin'
Far Cry Paradise Lost
Gaelco Championship Tuning Race
Golden Tee Golf (all years)
H2Overdrive

1. Log into TeknoParrot.com
2. Click on Online Profiles
3. Click on High Scores
4. Your Submission ID Serial will be displayed
5. Load up TeknoParrotUI and update if necessary
6. Go to Settings via the hamburger menu button in the top left of the TPUI window (NOT game settings)
Copy Submission ID Serial from TeknoParrot.com and paste in to Score Submission ID (This is unique to each individual user, keep private!)
7. Under Game Settings, Enable Score Submission and optionally you can Enable GUI now for GUI to be rendered onscreen with game info, FPS, etc.

With Score Submission enabled, it does introduce up to a 2 minute delay before starting the game. Eventually you'll see "Score Submission Loaded!" in the command prompt window. Not really sure why the delay happens.

The score submission HUD shows up in the top left of the window when the game starts. F10 will expand it to show the options button. F10 again to hide it. if everything is working OK, you can even disable the on-screen HUD by turning off the "Score - Enable GUI" feature in TPUI game settings so it doesn't show up in your video recordings. I just leave it on so I know its running.. it's not intrusive at all to me.

TPUI will auto-create ScoreSubmission.ini.

Score Submission will auto select your audio device, but it may choose the wrong one if you have more than one audio device availble on your system. If your recorded videos have no sound, you'll want to choose the correct audio device manually using the method below.

Choosing the audio device:
In the game settings, set "General - Windowed" mode and enable "Score - Enable GUI". If you try to do this in fullscreen, you won't see your mouse pointer at all.

Start game and once the attract screen starts showing video clips, using your mouse pointer, click on options button in HUD display. This takes some guesswork and patience as the mouse pointer tends to disappear with the attract videos playing in the background. I find by moving the mouse until you can see it in the bottom left corner of your screen on top of the taskbar, then lining it up with the score submission HUD and moving the mouse pointer up fairly slowly, I eventually can see the mouse pointer inside the small HUD box and can then click on the options checkbox to see the list of options. Uncheck the options box to make it minimize.

To select your own audio device, Disable the "auto choose audio device" option, and in the dropdown menu below it titled "capture audio device", choose your current audio device.

After setting your audio device, uncheck the "options" box and exit the game. Go back to TPUI game settings and turn off windowed mode and disable the GUI to hide the HUD.

Exiting out of games prematurely will affect your online scores and handicaps, so unless you want your stats messed up, play out each round of golf regardless if you did bad or not.

There is a YouTube upload feature but I've never tried using it. It requires Python and Selenium to be installed on your computer to work properly. The script is pinned in the golden-tee channel on their Discord
server if you're interested.

BepInEx Unity games (zzGeneralNotes)

When starting a Unity game for the FIRST TIME that contains a BepInEx folder, allow the game to start, then exit and restart the game. This will allow BepInEx to save and update its plugin configurations. After that initial restart, the plugin will be fully configured.
====================================================================
Fullscreen Resolutions (zzGeneralNotes)

A few games can be affected by monitor frequencies set higher than 60Hz when trying to run them in fullscreen mode. Drop the frequency to 60Hz to fix the problem. (Star Trek, HOTD4, Golden Gun, Transformers)

How to run a game directly without using TPUI (zzGeneralNotes)

C:\TeknoParrot\TeknoParrotUi.exe --profile=GoldenTeeLive2016.XML

You'll need to make sure you have all the game's settings pre-setup, including the path to the game executable.

you can get the profile names from the TeknoParrot\GameProfiles folder, or from searching for the game in this document and the profile name will be in brackets next to the game title.
====================================================================
iDmacDrv32.dll (zzGeneralNotes)

Some games you provide your own dumps for could have older versions of iDmacDrv32.dll in their game folder, which may be older than the current one that TPUI recommends using.

If you are experiencing any issues with a game that has iDmacDrv32.dll in the root folder, rename that dll file temporarily and start the game again. TPUI will (should) automatically copy the current iDmacDrv32.dll from its repository into the game folder and use it. If that fixes your issue, then continue to use the new iDmacDrv32.dll and toss the other.

If you are using your own MAME CHD's as the disc source, you will need to ensure the CHD is in the correct format. Download the latest MAME binary release from https://www.mamedev.org . Extract chdman.exe and use it to check the CHD's using Command Prompt. Substitute "image" for whatever the CHD is called.

Add chdman.exe to your system path, or copy the exe into the folder next to the CHD. Run the following command:
chdman.exe info -i image.chd

If you try to play the game and get an error in the Play! emulator, it will tell you you need to convert the image.

It can be done in 3 steps (substitute the word "image" for the name of your CHD):

rename or copy "image.chd" to "image.chd.orig"
chdman.exe extracthd -i image.chd.orig -o image.iso
chdman.exe createcd -i image.iso -o image.chd

when you have your converted CHD, you can delete "image.iso" and do whatever you want with the old "image.chd.orig"

Some GDDD drive images are huge, I've seen them into the hundreds of GB.

LACK OF CONTROLS:
- if you assign controls in TPUI and they still don't work, run TPUI as administrator.

Namco System 35x Games (zzGeneralNotes)

First boot will take a number of minutes for RPCS3 to create the cache/shader files, which are stored in the RPCS3\cache folder. Once they've been created once, subsequent game boots will be significantly faster.

NESiCAxLive game files (zzGeneralNotes)

If you look in the root of a NESiCA game folder and see the following .dds files, leave them alone.
NxLCountDownRenderer_HD.dds (2048x512)
NxLCountDownRenderer_HD_V.dds	(512x1024)
NxLCountDownRenderer_SD.dds (1024x256)
NxLCountDownRenderer_SD_V.dds	(256x512)

They belong to the game and are not added on by 3rd party tools, like some users would have you believe. They are graphics tiles created for and used by the NESiCA game loader to do a countdown while the game is booting. Unfortunately, that process is snubbed out by TPUI so you never actually see them. They are in SD and HD resolutions for both portrait and landscape monitor orientation.

If these .dds files are deleted it is not the end of the world. However, I have found if these files are missing, the game will no longer load any available in-game bezels. Just leave them alone.

Perfect Happ Trackball and Game Setup for Golden Tee games (zzGeneralNotes)

For the "perfect" Happ trackball setup that matches the original arcade machines (thanks to Rawd for all their hard work figuring it out):
- HAPP trackball with red boards (2),
- Optiwiz interface,
- Windows mouse speed set to 4 and precision control unchecked,
- TPUI on DirectInput set to 10 on each axis,
- Run RawAccelOfficial program and set to 0.72 (https://github.com/RawAccelOfficial/rawaccel/releases),
- resolution set to 1920x1080 (1080p)
- set in-game difficulty in the Service Menu to "5".

or, if you're using a mouse:

- Set input API to "RawInputTrackball"
- Set each of the "Controls - Trackball Sensitivity X" and "Y" to 25.
- resolution set to 1920x1080 (1080p)

RAW THRILLS path length limits (zzGeneralNotes)

There are three Raw Thrills eras which used different game engines, and the earliest had hard coded path length limits. These limits MUST not be ignored when setting up these games! Therefore, here are the games that will require game folder renaming after you extract them, or else you're just going to run into problems running the games.

~64-character limit (old engine, strictest):
These are the problem children. You’ll want to keep these folder + filename paths as short as possible.
For example, I keep these game folders at 5 characters locally, so "D:\TPGames\BBHPH\" ... ≤ ~58 chars max for these.

BBHP	Big Buck Hunter Pro (1.01.04, 1.25) (2008-05-19) [Raw Thrills Linux PC] [TP]
BBHPH	Big Buck Hunter Pro Home (1.01.02, 1.19) (2009-05-12) [Raw Thrills Linux PC] [TP]
FNF The Fast and the Furious (2004) [Raw Thrills PC] [TP]
FNFSB	The Fast and the Furious - Super Bikes (1.1.24) (2008-09-22) [Raw Thrills PC] [TP]
GHA Guitar Hero Arcade Edition (1.0.5) (2009-04-06) [Raw Thrills PC] [TP]
NTN Nicktoons Nitro Racing (1.1.4) (2008-09-29) [Raw Thrills PC] [TP]
TERM	Terminator Salvation (1.25.00) (2010) [Raw Thrills Linux PC] [TP]
TTG Target - Terror Gold (2.12) (2009-05-16) [Raw Thrills Linux PC] [TP]

~96-character limit (mid-era engine):
These titles used the Phoenix or early Unicorn loader. They’ll choke above 96, but 80–90 is still safest. These usually run on Linux builds with slightly safer path logic (longer structs), but still choke >96.

ALIENS Aliens Armageddon (03.90) (2014-10-08) [Raw Thrills Linux PC] [TP]

WXGSNO Winter X Games Snocross (1.58) (2014-08-04) [Raw Thrills PC] [TP]

~128+ character limit (modern engine):
These are fine with long paths - they use the SDL2-based Raw Thrills engine with dynamically allocated paths and longer C++ strings. You can pretty much ignore long path warnings for these. These use modern compilers, 64-bit OS layers, and flexible filesystem APIs. You’re safe up to ~255 chars.

TRIFORCE common notes: (zzGeneralNotes)

If Triforce game has a camera, wait until camera fails the check, then press the TEST key. It will then give you an option to press a button to skip.

Needs to be Xinput; can't bypass the adjustment menu with DirectInput

If Triforce game checks for a network ID, wait ~30 seconds, then the timer will start counting down from 59 seconds. When countdown completes, game will start.

Triforce games require the Dolphin emulator, which TPUI will download via its updater and place inside your TeknoParrot folder, called "CrediarDolphin". Without it, you'll get an error when trying to boot Triforce games.

What is a Render Hook (in TeknoParrot or similar wrappers)? (zzGeneralNotes)

A render hook is essentially when TeknoParrot (or any game loader/wrapper) intercepts the game’s graphics rendering function calls — usually from DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan — so it can inject its own code into the rendering pipeline.

It’s not about drawing graphics itself, but rather about hooking into the point where the game tells the GPU "draw this frame."

That allows TeknoParrot (or ReShade, or OBS, etc.) to:
- Overlay text or UI (FPS counters, input displays, etc.)
- Capture the framebuffer (for screenshots or streaming)
- Modify rendering behavior (aspect ratio fixes, resolution scaling, shader tweaks)
- Emulate missing hardware behavior (for arcade systems with custom GPUs or scaling)

Where the Hook Happens — Beginning vs End
-----------------------------------------

This does matter, and different tools pick different points intentionally.

Let’s use DirectX 9 as an example — most arcade PC games TeknoParrot runs use DX9 or DX11.

1. Begin Scene / Render Start Hook
	- Hooks functions like IDirect3DDevice9::BeginScene() or Present() before the game draws.
	- Good for injecting custom draw commands before the game renders (e.g. clearing buffers, resetting states, or drawing your overlay underneath the game).
	- Used when you need to manipulate things before the game’s main render calls.

Cons: If the game overwrites everything afterwards, your early draw might be wasted.

2. End Scene / Present Hook

- Hooks EndScene() or Present() after the game has finished rendering the frame.
- This is where ReShade, ENB, and most capture software hook — because by then the whole frame exists and can be read or modified.
- TeknoParrot can use this timing to apply post-processing, scaling, or window control logic right before the frame hits the screen.

Cons: You can’t influence how the game drew its scene, only what happens after.

Why TeknoParrot Might Care About Timing
---------------------------------------

Some games (especially custom arcade builds) have rendering quirks:
- They might use multiple render targets or non-standard Present calls.
- They might render in portrait orientation or custom resolutions.
- Some don’t even use the standard DX Present flow (e.g., Taito Type X).

So TeknoParrot may have to adjust:
- Early hook: to modify the viewport or force windowed mode before render starts.
- Late hook: to capture or rotate the finished frame before it goes to the monitor.

That’s why you’ll sometimes see launch options like "Render hook" (Present or EndFrame) — they control when TeknoParrot injects itself relative to the frame’s lifecycle.

What is the difference between "Fullscreen" and Fullscreen Windowed"? (zzGeneralNotes)

Fullscreen (a.k.a. Exclusive Fullscreen)

This is the classic fullscreen mode that takes complete control of your monitor’s output.

How it behaves:

- The game directly controls the display resolution and refresh rate.
- The desktop compositor (Windows’ DWM) is bypassed, meaning the game can render directly to the display.
- Usually results in slightly better performance (lower input lag, a few more FPS).
- Alt+Tabbing is slow or can cause flicker/resolution changes because the GPU has to hand control back to Windows.
- If you run multiple displays, the other screens may momentarily go black when the game launches or loses focus.

When to use:
- You want maximum performance and the lowest input latency (for example, rhythm or light-gun games).
- You’re running a single-screen setup or a dedicated cab display.

Fullscreen Windowed (a.k.a. Borderless Windowed)

This mode is technically just a borderless window sized to cover the entire screen. It looks like fullscreen but is still a window managed by Windows’ compositor.

How it behaves:
- The game’s resolution usually matches your desktop resolution (no resolution switching).
- The desktop compositor (DWM) is still active, meaning slightly higher latency and more VRAM use.
- Alt+Tabbing is instant — Windows doesn’t need to reinitialize the display.
- Perfect for multi-monitor setups — no flickering or blackouts on secondary screens.
- Can be more stable if the game doesn’t handle resolution changes well (common with TeknoParrot).

When to use:
- You want to easily multitask, stream, or capture footage.
- You’re using a frontend or launcher that switches between games.
- You’re running on a modern GPU where the latency difference is negligible.

In the context of TeknoParrot:

Many arcade dumps/emulations are finicky about display modes. Here’s what tends to happen:

- Some games (especially older SEGA Ring, Namco, or Taito Type X titles) expect to be in a fixed fullscreen resolution (e.g., 1280x720). Exclusive fullscreen helps them render correctly.
- Others behave better in fullscreen windowed mode because TeknoParrot or Windows scaling can mess up exclusive fullscreen output (e.g., window resizing or black borders).
- Fullscreen windowed also plays nicer if you use a frontend (like LaunchBox or AttractMode) that runs in the background and calls TeknoParrot.

Set your Windows Scaling to 100%, otherwise your aim will be off in crosshair games.

Lady Luck (LadyLuck)

*** if you have BlueTooth enabled - DISABLE IT! If internal, simply turn BT off. If you have an external dongle plugged in, remove it. The game WILL NOT load if an active BT connection is detected, and will hang on the black screen forever.

---

- THIS GAME IS VERY SLOW TO LOAD (~4 min) if you do not disable the I/O! The delay is due to the game trying to get through all the I/O errors that are being generated when it is checking (it won't display them).

Go to the following path in your game folder:
\Data\scripts\game_conf.lua

look for:
    -- Device Usage Information
    { "IOBoardComPort", 0 },

Ensure the IOBoardComPort is set to 0. If it is any other value than 0, change it to zero. There you go, now the game starts in 30 seconds!

SET THE GAME TO FREE PLAY VIA THE TEST MENU
- If you just want a pile of credits, you'll have to play in free play mode. You'll get 50,000 credits.
- enable FREE PLAY in the Test Menu > Game Settings > Free Play
- ensure you "Write Backup Ram" before exiting the test menu to save the change.

GAME BUTTONS:

Test: does nothing

Reset Switch:
- in test menu, it is the select button,
- in game, it is the "Start/Reel" button.

Up:
- in game, it will increase your bet by +25.

Down:
- does nothing.

Unknown 1:

---

HOW TO USE THE STARTUP TEST MENU:

You need 2 key bindings setup for the test menu:
- "UNKNOWN 2" = move arrow in test menu
- "RESET SWITCH" = select

(DO THIS FIRST PART ONLY ONCE WHEN YOU FIRST START PLAYING)
- Start the game in TEST MODE (TPUI button). Don't worry, entering test mode is quick.
- Select "Clear backup data".
- Select "Clear All Data". This resets the current game and everything else to zero.
- Select "Yes" to confirm your changes.
- Select "Exit" to exit the game back to TPUI.

Now, any time you want to change the game, just do this:
- Start TEST MODE
- Select Setup > Select Game Setting > Select Game
- make your game choice, then exit back to main test menu
- Select "Write Backup Ram", confirm with Yes
- Select "Exit" to exit the game back to TPUI.
- Start game normally and enjoy the game. If you want to play another game, repeat the above process.

HOW TO USE THE IN-GAME TEST MENU:

- press and hold down the "Unknown 1" key for a few seconds and the menu should appear. In the upper left-hand side of the screen, you'll see 3 semi-transparent boxes pop up. They're kinda hard to see at first glance.

If this does not work for you, press and hold the "Door switch" button, and while holding that button down, press and hold the "Unknown 1" key until the operator menu comes up. This is typically how an operator would access the test menu in a real physical game - unlocking and opening the cash door first, then pressing the test button inside.

- continuing to hold down the key, use the mouse to select one of the boxes
- you can enter test mode here and make changes. you may have to save and exit/restart the game to enable the features you changed. if you do nothing and select exit, it will put you back in the game.
- the other two boxes are for adding medals (which convert to the usable credits you bet with), or performing an attendant payout, which is used on a real machine by a player to cash out some of their winnings.

There are 5 different slot-themed games to choose from in the test menu:
Hot Shot Progressive
The House of the Dead LL
Lucky da Fugo (Millionaire) LL
Samba de Amigo LL
10 Hand Poker LL

KEY BINDINGS:

My preferred key bindings:

Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf Happy Happy Playground (Xiyangyang)

This water-squirting game is currently missing in action. It joins Cross Exlesia as an MIA game.

Gashaaaan Refill! (Gashaaaan2)

If you supplied your own copy, the game requires the DLL's from Jurassic Park and The Walking Dead. Just copy whatever .dll files are in those game's root folders and place them in Gashaaaan's \IG2\exec_root folder (alongside the gasya.exe file)

So far, to use crosshairs you need all four player's png's - P1.png thru P4.png. These go in the \IG2\exec_root folder (same folder as the game exe).

Bezels are also supported. Put them in the same location as the game exe.

If you crash the game, ensure you open Task Manager and kill the "bms_IG2.exe" process. if not, it'll just sit there idling until you reboot your PC. If you exit the game cleanly, you'll see a command line message stating it is killing that specific process.

Angry Birds Arcade (AngryBirds)

Game is working. The game is super-short, and not all that interesting tbh. It's what you'd expect for a very basic Angry Birds. Just point the spotlight circle at where you want to hit, and press the button.

If you want to reset the game, just delete the "pmuser" folder in: pm\g6\angrybirds

Omatsuri Yasan Ganso Takoyaki (OmatsuriYasanGansoTakoyaki)

An old CAVE release. Waiting on TP devs to fix crosshairs and some graphical issues for some users. I'm not really sure why this game needs crosshairs when the "tool" you use to flip the takoyaki's shows up when the game starts and works fine (up,down, left, right).

Otherwise, game runs. The game can be extracted from the MAME CHD. You can do it yourself if you have the "oygt.chd" file:
- from your MAME executable folder, copy chdman.exe to a temp folder that also contains the chd file.
- open a command prompt, and run:
	chdman.exe extractraw -i oygt.chd -o oygt.img
- when finished, right click and extract the .img file to a folder with 7-Zip
- go inside the "oygt" folder and right click on the "1.fat" file and extract it to a folder with 7-Zip
- inside the "1" folder, the game is contained within the "CVGAME" folder. Just copy that folder into your TP game directory and rename it as you like.
- delete the remaining files in your temp folder.
====================================================================
Omatsuri Yasan Kingyo Sukui (OmatsuriYasanKingyoSukui)

An old CAVE release. Waiting on TP devs to fix stuff, like

Again, crosshairs can be enabled, I would recommend finding one that is nice and small so it doesn't look stupid on top of your fishing net.

Now, what's messed up in the game:
- after a game ends, no highscore name input when clicking on screen (have to wait for timeout)
- next screen after is to create/edit a fish.. same as above
- next screen is for a QR code, you get stuck on a 120 second timer. also the timer seems to skip down 10 or so seconds randomly. you can press the coin key here and it'll invisibly add credits.
- in then cycles back to the title screens, you'll see all the credits entered if you pressed the coin key on the previous screen. however, the start game button won't use any previouly inserted coins. only a fresh coin on this screen starts the game again.
====================================================================
Doodle Jump Arcade (DoodleJump)

Native resolution: 1360x768 or 1366x768

Both 1.08NJS and 1.28 versions work. The New Jersey Street/"NJS" version is slightly different due to the strict gambling laws for redemption games in that US state. Both versions seem to play the same, so it comes down to how the ticket redemption works and the options available to set the game up in that state. While technically they're both at v1.28, there are 31 different files in the NJS version vs. the standard 1.28 version (including the main game elf). This is how they are versioned by ICE. For completeness sake and because TP runs both, I've added both to the collection. If you have more information about exactly what is changed for these stricter state versions please let me know, this kind of stuff is very interesting!

Don't bother trying to play it with XInput - it seems the joystick only gives the game the left, center and right coordinates so your dude only jumps to those spots. And DirectInput.. nope. Your only chance is with a mouse and RawInput. I suppose a trackball would work too, but I didn't test that.

If you obtained your dump from the internet, you may see a "version.txt" file (lowercase) in your \data folder. If you move this file to the \dj\doodle folder and uppercase the file to VERSION.TXT, the correct game version will show in the test menu. Wow, eh.

Settings to make the game more enjoyable:
test menu > Payout Adjustments > Amusement Only
	- disables the ticket stuff and lets you simply play the game
test menu > Leaderboard > enable
	- high scores! but not saved yet.

Problems:
- the game screen's viewable area is too narrow in landscape mode. This cuts a portion of the right edge of the screen. Needs to be fixed.
- after you play one game, the next game you select may start with a game screen devoid of any platforms. You'll either bounce at the bottom indefinitely, or fall to your death and earn 1 point. It doesn't seem to matter which game mode you choose to play (space, classic or jungle). It will happen randomly. The only course of action if you're stuck in an endless bounce is to exit the game. If you get the instant death, you can start another game and with luck, the screen will populate with platforms like it should. This needs to be fixed.
- the LEADERBOARD works great, but currently does not save. Would be a nice to have feature.

DO NOT set the game to a higher resolution in TPUI, the game does not adjust the game's objects well above its default resolution of 768x1360. Things like text will appear smaller, but some areas will be expanded and empty, and it'll introduce a right-side letterbox if the resolution is set to something like 1080p. it just won't look right. Keep it at the game's default resolution.

Tetote x Connect (TetoteConnect)

- You can set Japanese and English languages in the test menu.

This game definitely requires a touchscreen monitor. You won't be able to see your mouse pointer with all the action on the screen, and you won't be able to keep up with all the clicking.

Other than the touchscreen requirement, the game works fine.

Quake Arcade Tournament Edition (Quake)

info: https://www.quaddicted.com/quake/quake_arcade_tournament_edition

TP Devs dropped this on our laps with online-only multiplayer TP support ONLY. Nobody is waiting in the lobby to play against you. This game requires considerable setup just to get it to run. They could have at least gave us single player mode. I can't test this game in TPUI as I don't have enough licenses, so I tested everything in standalone mode.

I am NOT going to teach the world how to work with Quake games. Here's some quick bullet points to help you to get the game to a playable state by directly running "glquake_decrypted.exe".

- you need to run the decrypted exe with the option of -nogci

- setup a quick batch file to run the exe so you don't need to type it in manually:

@echo off
start "Quake ATE" /WAIT "glquake_decrypted.exe" -nogci
exit

- the only way to play a game in the arcade build is to load a pre-existing saved game. if you try to start a "new game", it'll just kick you back to the start of the attract mode.

- you need to install nGlide drivers on your OS. https://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide

- you do NOT need to put the glide dll's in the game folder. the game will find them in your system folder.

- setup your keyboard bindings via the in-game menu. WASD and mouse should be your primary method of playing the game. What the bindings are set to is up to your preference.

- I believe the default option is to invert the mouse for up/down movement. disable it in the options menu so up means up, and down means down.

- DO NOT BOTHER trying to run the game in a higher resolution through command line. glquake is hard coded for 640x480 and it has no textures for higher resolutions, and no flexibility otherwise to adjust to any other resolution other than the one it was meant to run at. You may be able to use 3rd party tools, but it isn't going to make the game look any better than it already is.

- the game attract videos will NOT PLAY PROPERLY. You need to comment out their existence by opening the "quake.rc" file in the "ID1" folder.
	- put // in front of each line that contains an .avi file, for example:

	//startdemos avis\lbe.avi
	startdemos demos\hipdemo2.dem

	- do not comment out the .dem lines.

- if the videos are left enabled, the avi's try to play in 640x480 windowed mode as an overlay on top of glquake's fullscreen hardware window. it would have workred in the Win95 days which the game was built for, but this type of direct hardware access breaks in modern OS'es. Win95 was very easy to force things like this, but not anymore.

- set the game font size to 1.60 in the options menu so you don't get weird glitching around the letters. The custom font does not scale well.

- the only emu platform that would properly emulate the environment and hardware needed is PCem (and possibly 86Box). I have attempted to run the original hard drive .img in it, but I ran into problems with the glide driver not being properly associated with the Obsidian2 Voodoo2 card. I'm sure there are some smart people out there who have their own private builds of this game. The couple of hours I battled with it caused me to abandon efforts for now. The recommended hardware settings are: Intel 440BX (via the Slot 1 Gigabyte GA-686BX machine), CPU = Intel Pentium II 233MHz or higher, 64MB RAM, S3 Trio64 or S3 ViRGE, with Voodoo2 enabled and memory sizes set as high as they go (4MB iirc), 2 button PS2 mouse, no joystick, no network card (not required for the game).

- Use AI to dig into the meat and potatoes of this game if you really want to muck around with things. It thinks it knows everything about how to help you get the game running, but be careful it doesn't embellish and make things up on you, or you'll be steered down a fruitless path.

I have started to chip away at my own build of this game, fixing some stuff and adding some features back in such as CD music (successfully, it's nice to have NIN in the background!). If it eventually turns into anything, I'll share it.
